Albert Souza Mülli
Head of Policy Advice
Albert has over 13 years of experience in conflict resolution and mediation, stabilisation and peacebuilding policy and programming. Albert joined the Centre after two years heading Bodhi Global Analysis’ Conflict and Peacebuilding practice, where he delivered strategic conflict analysis and advisory services to leading international peace and security organisations and donors.
Before that, Albert was the Peace Responsiveness Advisor at Interpeace, where he advised UN agencies (FAO, ILO, and IOM) and donor governments (ECHO, Denmark) on strategies and processes for enhancing the peace contribution of their humanitarian and development programmes. Prior to his work at Interpeace, Albert was a Senior Conflict Adviser in the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO), formerly the Department for International Development (DFID). At FCDO/DFID, Albert provided strategic conflict mediation and peacebuilding advice to Ambassadors and Ministers and was responsible for complex, large-scale UK conflict programmes in a number of conflict-affected contexts, including Pakistan, Myanmar, Lebanon, Libya, and South Sudan. Before joining DFID, Albert worked as a Deputy Camp Manager in South Sudan and as a Peacebuilding Programme Manager in Kenya and Uganda.
Albert has an MA in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute in Geneva and a BA in Political Science and Latin American Studies from Vassar College in the USA.
