Nkwachukwu Orji
Nkwachukwu Orji is a political science and development studies researcher, lecturer, and practitioner. He received postgraduate training and experience at universities and research institutions in Nigeria and abroad. He has held teaching, research, advisory, and development project management positions in several institutions within and outside Nigeria. Dr. Orji has led or participated in several field research on Nigeria’s security, elections, and democratisation.
In 2017, he was appointed by the Nigerian President as the Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Anambra State. While in the State, he was responsible for implementing the activities of the Commission, including conducting the 2017 and 2021 Anambra State governorship elections and the 2019 general elections. He is a member of several professional bodies and learned societies, including the Nigeria Political Science Association (NPSA) and the Chartered Institute of Directors (CIoD), and has served on the Board of various institutions such as the CLEEN Foundation, Abuja, and the Police Academy, Kano. He has authored several monographs, articles, and reports on security, elections, democratisation, and development.
