Theo Tindall

 

Theo is a Research Officer in the Politics and Governance programme at ODI, focussing on the Former Soviet Union and the Middle East and North Africa regions. His interests include the political economies of fragile and conflict-affected states, national and transnational identity politics and the role of online media in authoritarian settings. 

Theo holds a BA in Russian and Arabic from the University of Cambridge and an MA in Political Science from the Central European University. He has previously worked for the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan and at the organisation’s Secretariat in Vienna and has participated in OSCE election observation missions to Kyrgyzstan and Serbia. 

Theo is a fluent speaker of Russian and Egyptian Colloquial Arabic, with advanced proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic and French.
