Eliza Urwin

 

Eliza Urwin serves as the Head of Research at the Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding (CCDP) at the Geneva Graduate Institute. Specializing in the study of contested authority and its impact on conflict and state formation processes, Eliza has ten years of experience researching armed groups, governance, and security, and contributing to development initiatives. Alongside her main research focus, she explores innovative measurement approaches, particularly participatory research methods in peace processes and aid delivery.

From 2013 to 2017, Eliza worked in Afghanistan, for the United States Institute of Peace and Sayara International, managing research and programming related to peace and conflict. She has conducted fieldwork in countries such as Thailand, Lebanon, Jordan, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, and remotely in the Sahel region.
