Stephanie Diepeveen
Stephanie Diepeveen (PhD, University of Cambridge) is a Senior Lecturer in Global Digital Politics at KCL.
Previously she was a Senior Research Fellow at ODI where she led its Digital Societies Portfolio and a Senior Research Associate in the Department of Politics and International Studies at the University of Cambridge. Stephanie has been researching data and digital technologies in relation to political and social life for almost fifteen years, with a focus on moments of heightened political tension and in crisis-affected communities.
Her work has been published widely for academic and policy communities. Her book Searching for A New Kenya: Politics and Social Media on the Streets of Mombasa with Cambridge University Press (2021) looks comparatively at issues of political trust, power and inclusion on- and offline. Stephanie’s work prioritises building cross-sectoral and interdisciplinary networks, with an aim to help create an environment in which research is motivated by and oriented to support policy and practice.
